SAN JUAN - With just 24 years old, Cristal Marie has been opening her own way through the competitive music world with talent and perseverance, her first album obtained several awards and recognitions around the globe.

Native from the Dominican Republic, this talented girl not only poses a unique and powerful voice; she's also an experimented actress and a polyglot award-winning song writer. Yes, you read well, this young star can sing in Spanish as well as in English, French, Italian, and even Chinese.

"I love languages; it's like a passion for me. To figure out how different cultures express their feelings and thoughts is something precious. Some idioms are so beautiful, and sometimes when I'm writing the songs I'm asked to write them in one specific language, that process is so beautiful, that’s why I like to learn all the idioms I can", commented Cristal in an exclusive interview with QPTV.

In addition the songstress is also well known for being a social fighter, for humanitarian causes principally in her native country, here she was named official spokeswoman for a Dominican Republic Campaign to prevent and fight for violence against women.

Recently the singer founded "The Cristal Marie Foundation" also in the Dominican Republic, an organization to aid the musical education of children in that country.

Among her musical accomplishments we can mention her participation composing and singing besides the Boricua Jean Carlos Canela, the theme for the popular soap opera "Pecados Ajenos" (The Sins of Others). She also composed the principal song (Confieso) for the Mexican motion picture "Sin Social".

In the awards department, Cristal Marie gets one of the first places in the Santo Domingo's Songwriter's Festival with the song "Mariposas" (Butterflies). In 2009 she won the Casandra Award as Best Female Singer in her country and was a finalist in the list of "Woman of the Year" organized by Diario Libre (an official local newspaper in Dominican Republic).

Her first album titled "Cristal", sold millions of copies in the Caribbean and Latin America, having a special acceptance in countries like México, Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, Puerto Rico and a lot of America cities like Boston, New York, Los Angeles and Miami to mention a few; with popular songs such as: "Tu y Yo" (You and Me), "Esta Noche Tengo Ganas" (I want you tonight) and "Te He Perdido" (I lost you) this last one recorded in two versions including the ballad and the bachata adaptation.

During 2009 Cristal promoted her album across several countries in Latin America and soon will back to Puerto Rico to offer a concert and present her new album, which is already a work in progress.
