Wave of improvements for HJ
MAYAGUEZ - The IHP Hospitality Group is an organization devoted to hotel development and management; they are in charge of multiple projects in hotels, suites, inns and conference centers throughout Puerto Rico. Under their management, there are several hotels including three venues of the Faro Hotels and a Courtyard Marriot in Aguadilla (Northwestern side of the Island), Le Consulat from the Clarion Collection in San Juan (Metropolitan Area), and a Howard Johnson in Mayagüez (Middle West side of Puerto Rico).
Recently since we are getting closer to the celebration of the Central American and Caribbean Games this July 17, and its principal venue will be at Mayagüez, the IHP Hospitality Group has announced that they are investing $600 thousand on the enlargement of the local Howard Johnson Hotel, in order to better the hotel's quality at the Middle West area of the Island.
The magnification included eleven more bedrooms which make a total of 50 bedrooms in the hotel, the reshuffle of the lobby, a conference and convention center available for 60 people, a patio, a coffee shop and a wine bar. This is the first remodeling that has ever been done to the hotel since it was open ten years ago at the Méndez Vigo Street, downtown Mayagüez.
This new image will include an incredible restaurant where you will be able to find the best soups, wraps, sandwiches, salads, pies, tapas and also an amazing selection of 160 wines. The marketing director of the hotel Sylvia Bonilla explained that they are already booked for the entire month that the Central American and Caribbean Games are being held. She also added that this enlargement will further help a lot with the comfort of the guests.
This June 8th was the official inauguration of the new installations at the hotel, counting with the presence of the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company Mr. Jaime López and the Mayor of Mayagüez municipality, Mr José Guillermo Rodríguez.
Sylvia Bonilla also added that IHP Hospitality Group will continue with the remodeling and inauguration of the rest of the hotels they are managing. |
