Inaugurated on November of 2009, Latin Roots represents a new concept in entertainment across Old San Juan. Conceived as a club-restaurant-lounge, this colorful place was made for those enthusiasts of the Latin music, so if you like dancing, singing and enjoy the most pure and contagious tropical rhythms, this is the place for you.
One of the principal attractiveness of this corner is the variety of music and the free dance classes that people can enjoy. Before or after eating you will be able to shine in the dance floor with one of the international award winning professional dancers the club has for the visitors, arranged to instruct any person no matter their age in rythms like: meringue, salsa, cumbia or bachata to mention a few.
This concept brought from the Miami salsa clubs also counts with a decent menu, only for those sufficiently dared to prove the pure Puerto Rican cuisine in the most traditional way.
The specialties are of course are rice and beans, the mamposteao rice, fried pork meat and the traditional dishes made with plantain such as mofongo, pasteles, soup and salad among others.
If you are searching for something refreshing you definitely have to taste the delicious 'sangria" and the unique 'mojitos' prepared in one of the three bars of the club.
Wednesdays and weekends people can enjoy live music, having on stage some of the most important exponents of the Caribbean music, from full orchestras to famous solo singers. Also visitors can enjoy the diverse dance demonstrations that the house dancers offered everyday (for schedules ask to your waiter).
The club also offers memorabilia and products related with the theme of the restaurant and its famous visitors such as clothing, accessories, videos of salsa classes, photos, CD's and more.
